Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses on an analysis of the relationship between the military and society in the People's Republic of Romania, particularly between 1948 and 1957. The research begins by explaining the perspectives of Marx and Lenin regarding their views on the concept of a "people's army" and then moves on to key aspects from the October Revolution of 1917 related to the military, as well as the founding of the Red Army. From there, the research transitions to the Army of the People's Republic of Romania to examine how the principles of the two communist ideologues were applied and how important figures such as Gheorghe Gheorghiu–Dej and Emil Bodnăraș shaped the army according to their own visions. Additionally, the text provides an analysis of the education levels and backgrounds of soldiers in the People's Republic of Romania's army. It also includes an interview and a study of documents related to military service in the People's Republic of Romania, the reserve officer of the People's Army and the benefits of the reserve officer in civilian life.
