Summary/Abstract: In the article, the Belarusian interests of Slavists who worked at theUniversity of Warsaw in the ХІХ – early ХХ centuries are described and analyzed(at different times: Royal University of Warsaw, Main School of Warsaw, ImperialUniversity of Warsaw). The writings, which now belong to Belarus, in thebeginning ХІХth century attracted the attention of S. Linde and in the end ХІХthcentury – that of J. Karsky. The first, because of objective reasons, could notconsider its gradual development, and the second made a thorough description,noting the cessation of „Western Russian writing” (in Cyrillic and Arabic versions).
