Summary/Abstract: The influence of the people and media around us has been pervasive for several decades. Mass media, advertising, the internet, and social networks have created an alternative reality with which we have become familiar, without fully recognizing the extent of their detrimental effects. While the information we obtain from the internet proves useful for research purposes, it should not constitute our sole source but rather complement information acquired through traditional formats. Persuasion and manipulation are two techniques that coexist effectively. These methods are encountered across various domains, ranging from political information to diplomatic-military affairs and commercial contexts. Protection from negative influences can only be achieved through understanding their underlying mechanisms, remaining informed, and pursuing continuous education in this regard.
