Summary/Abstract: The main challenge and the main interest of the present article is to clarify that particularly important context of the Cluj heroes' sacrifice in the Great War.In the Great War, the people of Cluj were soldiers both in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, between 1914 and 1918, but also in the Romanian Army from 1918 until the end of the Hungarian Campaign in 1919 (including the battles at Ciucea in January 1919), a campaign that is considered the end of the war for Romania because it ratified the result of the Alba Iulia Assembly on December 1 1918.
