Summary/Abstract: In this paper, we analyze the valences of fantastic space through several literary works representative of claustrophobic imagination. While Gilbert Durand identifies a creative principle associated with what he calls "claustrophilic" imagination, we argue that it is essential to explore the fantastic universe that arises from claustrophobic imagination. Additionally, the paper examines the concept of fantastic spatial imaginary, drawing on the theories of key figures in the study of the Fantastic. Elements such as the blending of the strange with the familiar, the emergence of mysterious factors that disrupt the daily balance, and the intrusion of the dark into ordinary experiences all contribute to the fantastic spaces we discuss in this analysis.
