Summary/Abstract: The study explores the profound role of children’s literature in primary education, focusing on its potential to introduce spectral worlds, fabulous characters, and mythical atmospheres that engage young readers in imaginative and reflective thinking. The research examines various didactic approaches to integrating these literary elements into the curriculum, analyzing how they can enrich children’s understanding of cultural and historical narratives, while also fostering creativity and emotional intelligence. In the context of primary education, children’s literature serves as a bridge between the child’s world and broader societal and mythical constructs. By exploring fantastic realms and larger-than-life characters, it not only stimulates cognitive development but also nurtures a child’s ability to empathize with diverse perspectives. The presence of mythical elements within these stories invites children to explore archetypal themes, such as the battle between good and evil, the journey of self-discovery, and the triumph of hope over adversity. The study also reflects on the didactic strategies employed by educators to maximize the pedagogical value of such literature. Through interactive reading sessions, guided discussions, and creative activities, teachers can encourage students to critically engage with the themes presented in the stories, making the learning experience both enjoyable and meaningful. Ultimately, the study underscores the potential of children’s literature, particularly stories rich in fantasy and myth, to enhance primary education by cultivating critical thinking, fostering emotional growth, and promoting a deeper understanding of cultural and historical contexts. By approaching these literary works through a didactic lens, educators can guide students in developing both cognitive and emotional skills that will benefit them throughout their academic journey and beyond.
