Summary/Abstract: This article presents a bibliometric analysis of scientific literature on road accident reconstruction, based on 910 scientific documents from the Web of Science Core Collection database from 1971 to 2025. The study included an analysis of publication dynamics, geographical distribution, citation rates and scientific collaboration. The most important results indicate a dynamic increase in the number of publications, especially after 2010, with a record level of 105 articles in 2024. The average annual growth in publications is 6.81%, and the average number of citations per document is 10.53. China, the United States and the United Kingdom dominate in terms of citation rates, with American publications having the highest average citation rate (24.80 citations per article). The journal “Accident Analysis and Prevention” is the most important source of publications (42 articles), and Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Changsha University of Science and Technology lead in terms of affiliation. Thematic analysis revealed the interdisciplinary nature of the field, combining medical aspects (trauma, injuries, surgery), engineering aspects (simulation, vehicle, safety) and modern technologies (deep learning, network). The evolution of topics in recent years indicates a shift from classic biomechanical and clinical issues towards the application of artificial intelligence and big data. The study did not analyse publications not indexed in databases, although their share in the total number of publications is undoubtedly much higher, which may be a contribution to further bibliometric analyses.
