INCIDENCE OF GRAPEVINE FLAVESCENCE DORÉE PHYTOPLASMA IN VOJVODINA

Summary/Abstract: The Flavescence dorée (FD) phytoplasma is present in the vineyards of Vojvodina, as 35.6% of the symptomatic samples were found to be infected. A total of 59 symptomatic leaf samples came from 8 different localities, and 21 were found to be infected. 39.4% of the samples from the Bácska region, 42.8% of the samples from Banat, and 16.6% of the samples from Szermát were found to be infected by the pathogen. Samples with symptoms but negative for FD in the laboratory indicate the presence of other phytoplasmas or viral diseases. The increasingly frequent warm years correspond to the vector that spreads the pathogen, which is why the disease continues to spread. Older plantations were not found to be more infected than newly planted ones, which is why we assume that the infection rate depends mostly on the regular targeted control against the vector.
