Summary/Abstract: The text identifies a puzzle about modal paradoxes: that if solvable, they are pseudo-paradoxes, and if insoluble, they fail to be instructive. I illustrate the point with the indicative case of Chisholm’s paradox and point to possible deflationary uses for paradoxes.
