Activities of Trade Unions on the International and EU Level

Summary/Abstract: This article presents a sphere of trade union activity that sometimes escapes widespread attention,that is, activity at the international and EU levels. The importance of both these spheresfor ensuring an adequate level of labor rights is constantly growing, and, thus, the role of tradeunion organizations, that is, that representation of the employed that has the greatest potentialfor effective action at this level, is also growing. In our discussion, various mechanisms at thedisposal of trade unions are presented (both strictly legal and organizational) and special attentionis paid to the activity of Polish trade union organizations.
