Summary/Abstract: During the COVID-19 pandemic, governments took various anti-crisismeasures globally to mitigate its social and economic consequences. Studieson the effects of the pandemic confi rm the hypothesis that the costs of suchcrises are borne to a greater extent by women due to their worse socio-economicposition. The subject of the study is state policies addressed to women. Theanalysis was carried out on the basis of the Global Gender Response Trackerdatabase1 which monitors actions addressed to women taken by governmentsaround the world to combat the pandemic, and covered the relationshipbetween the values of indicators of social, economic and political developmentof countries and the implementation of government policies aimed at women(gender policies) during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research confi rmedthat high socio-economic and political development indicators of countriesare strongly correlated with the presence of government policies addressedto women. Regardless of the level of the country’s development, the most frequently implemented policy was the one counteracting violence. On theother hand, policies in the fi eld of social protection, the labour market andeconomic and tax measures were more often pursued in countries with highdevelopment indicators.
