Summary/Abstract: The article examines the Dublin system as a key element in the process of granting asylum on EU territory to persons from third countries. It explores the development of the system and analyzes its main characteristics. The article examines in detail the criteria for determining the competent Member State, as well as the exceptions to the criteria. It also analyses the criticism towards the system and its further development.
