Summary/Abstract: Challenges caused by the destabilisation of the global securitysystem and crises of both military and non-military nature in themodern world are forcing an innovative approach to personnelmanagement in uniformed services responsible for internal secu-rity (i.e. public order and rescue services) as well as external secu-rity (military). Team leaders in these services should have specificqualifications and competencies in relation not only to the tasksthey perform, but also to expectations and attitudes of the rest ofsociety. The changes taking place in individual social groups, theprofessional mobility of society, the mixing of cultures and tra-ditions mean that academic solutions for training and preparingofficers and commanders to lead teams in such services should bethoroughly modified and supplemented with new solutions stem-ming from social needs and expectations.
