Summary/Abstract: Koliq gives a new breath to Albanian prose, it remains an excellent innovator of the beginnings of modernity. In this context, we will understand by modernity, as Hegel teaches us, a historical function, not necessarily connected to a historical era, but to the era in which both individuals and the community develop a historical awareness of themselves and of their actions; an awareness of one's place in history and of one's potential to transform it into a cultural identity. Precisely in Koliq's prose, we see the development of one of the clearest awareness of the historical, cultural and aesthetic functioning of modernity. The short prose presented by Koliqi deals with a cultural collage woven with civilization. Koliqi wanted his art to be of the "European type with the dough and color of the Albanian world". Koliqi penetrates the psyche of intellectuals who have been educated abroad but who have returned to their homeland. The Albanian intellectual who lives in Albania aims to introduce a new culture in the Albanian environment by asking for the abandonment of some evil habits but without denying the more positive sides of the tradition. The intellectual who lives in a foreign land aims to elevate and preserve traditional Albanian traditions by assimilating a foreign culture with which they are in daily contact in order to create their national identity. As such, this intellectual carries the most authentic Albanian mindset. (Doda in the novella "Blood"). In Koliq's Shkodra or in his novels, a whole gallery of characters pass by who embody ideas, motives, and complicated situations that were protected in the author's psyche and as such are served to a wide public such as the Albanian reader. Among other topics that Koliqi deals with in his literary creativity, it is generally the difficulty faced by the individual in the "war" against the collectivity, the impossibility of the individual in changing the things that had become the norm in the psyche of the collectivity. The Koliqi’s style naturally shows the spirit of an "artist who only opens the window to see the world" with the character.
