Summary/Abstract: Recent research on three prehistoric burial mounds in Păulești (Prahova County) has led to the identification of four graves, dated by C14 AMS to the first half of the 3rd millennium and culturally classified, on the basis of ritual and funerary inventory, as part of the pre Yamnaya Yamnaya burial horizon. In order to reconstruct the demographic structure of these populations, the skeletal sex of the four identified individuals (one child and three adult males) was determined, and their ages at death were estimated. To study skeletal variability and understand long term evolutionary processes, a number of non metric characters were recorded. To complete the biological profile and reveal the nutritional and health status of these prehistoric communities, the skeletal remains were examined to calculate body mass and diagnose pathological changes, essential variables for understanding human biology and the social environment of past populations
