Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on the current issue of educating pupils with a different mother tongue. The article’s central argument is that, given the evidence of teachers’ inadequate preparation for teaching in multilingual and multicultural contexts, there is a pressing need to examine pedagogical communication within the school environment. The text outlines the specific impact on the achievement of academic success and the development of self-confidence among pupils with a mother tongue different to the national language. It emphasises the necessity to adapt the language of instruction and employ didactic methodologies that facilitate the gradual acquisition of new knowledge and enhance pupils’ self-confidence.
