Summary/Abstract: In our work, will be addressed the role of loneliness in the work of Mehmet Kraja seen in a progressive light, which sends to the desperate need of man to identify himself individually and nationally. National identity is established in aid of personal identity and together they shape the universal identity of the human being. Through our descriptive and semiotic approach to Kraja's novel prose, will be exposed his perspective on the topic of loneliness and isolation as a state, which precedes literary creation and worldview. Loneliness is a prerequisite for man to be a thinker, and it must be turned into a companion for man to become a philosopher. Every time man has been amazed by his being and his identity coordinates, he has been drawn to process in solitude all the knowledge he possesses and, the moment he has critically seen himself, the Other and all the relations generated by human relations, has turned his loneliness into a beacon of light, which has helped illuminate the night of the human subconscious thus realizing that accepting the temporality of life would help him find the motive. The characters of Kraja float weightless in the course of their individual and national history, and the actions they take to counter the currents of politics and war are more in support of the motivation of their universal movement in the flow, than they have a changing or backward power. Fate plays tragicomic tricks and man goes vague along with his philosophical wonder to the other world, where the same identity ambiguity awaits him and where the perception of the nation and the universe turn into a lame joke.
