Summary/Abstract: The text examines the place of the character in the literary genre of drama as a bridge between the reality that theatre imitates. The brief historical framework provides a consistent view of the development and the manner of interaction between the person from reality and the dramatic character. Reaching today, the dramatic character encounters the era of the digital person – the avatar. Is the living presence comparable to the artificially created human in times of intersections between science, art, and technology?
