European instruments on domestic violence. regulations and case law

Summary/Abstract: The first initiatives at the European level to promote measures for the protection of women against violence directed at them emerged in the 1990s. These initiatives materialized in the adoption of Recommendation 2002(5) on the protection of women against violence, in the Pan-European Campaign from 2006–2008 to combat violence against women, including domestic violence, and in the European Parliament Resolution of November 26, 2009 concerning the elimination of violence against women.
