Summary/Abstract: The article presents a general assessment of the current state of higher militaryeducation in Poland (five military academies). The main purpose of the studywas to identify challenges for academic military education in Poland and topropose changes that should be made to improve the situation in the aspectof using experiences from the armed conflict in Ukraine. The study presents,among others: the needs of the Polish Armed Forces in terms of the supply ofofficer staff; main goals and profiles of education at military universities; chal-lenges facing military universities, competences of management and teachingstaff; inappropriate proportions between the number of full-time civilian andmilitary students; problems regarding educational programs, teaching and so-cial infrastructure; and recommendations for systemic changes in the aspectof using experiences from the armed conflict in Ukraine. The author used themethods of analyzing the literature and normative documents, observing phe-nomena and processes in PME, and comparing and synthesizing research re-sults. The article indicates the solution to the main research problem by formu-lating the recommendations regarding the directions of changes and systemicreform that should be carried out in higher military education in Poland so thatit meets Allied standards and allows for the preparation of Polish Army officersat an optimal level. The chapter may be of interest to decision-makers ofthe Ministry of Defense, researchers of international and national security, and research workers (teachers and students) of military and civilian universitiesdealing with professional military education.
