Concept of Hellenism - ideological implications

Summary/Abstract: Discussion about the history of reception of the ancient Greek heritage, with speical attention to the narrative on Greek cultural superiority, leads to the assumption that such a narrative as kind of cultural capital, was made during the ancient times. However, based on the discussion on development of new literary forms - art history and literary critic, as well as collectors' practice and practice of copying "great" works of the past, it could be assumed that in the ancient times, especially duringg Hellenistic period, a narrative of undisputable value and achievements of Greek culture was formed.
