Summary/Abstract: The present paper aims to tackle the issues of migration and asylum, as regulated by the Dublin Regulation, the limitations of the said Regulation in the context of the recent migration challenges and the limited resources of the reception facilities of the most exposed States, and the measures proposed in the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum. This research involves the study of provisions in the Dublin Regulation, together with other relevant EU instruments, as well as of the relevant case-law of the European Court of Human Rights, with a focus on Tarakhel v. Switzerland, as a landmark case which raised challenges regarding the Dublin Regulation. The study will then look into the solutions proposed by the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum, and address, in conclusion, the challenges faced by the EU in this respect, and the possible solutions, in the context of an era of increasing polarization and disinformation related to the migration narrative.
