Women in Albania after the 1990s and their right to decision making

Summary/Abstract: The article "Women in Albania and Their Right to Decision Making" is inspired by the many problems that exist today, not only in Albanian society but also wider, about the role and position of women in political, economic and social life. Over the past two decades, Albania has recognized important and positive developments in achieving gender equality in the country between men and women, however, much remains to be done in relation to the real guarantee of gender rights. For this reason, this paper is focused on the role of women in society, mainly in two areas: a. Women in political decision-making b. Their economic empowerment This paper aims to highlight the importance of achieving gender equality, of creating equal opportunities for women in all spheres of life, thus affecting the economic and social development of Albanian society.
