Summary/Abstract: The article describes the newest modus operandi of drug smuggling by use of modern technologies, specifically AirTag, Galaxy SmartTag, Tile devices etc., which are being revealed in postal and other shipments containing illegal substances by law enforcement around the world. This “smart” smuggling has become a new modus operandi representing new challenges in the context of the detection and sophisticated detection of illegal drugs trafficking for police forces. The aim of the article is to contribute in providing an overview bearing in mind basic terms and examples from abroad where there are seen more cases compared to those in the Czech environment.
