Summary/Abstract: The author of the review article addresses the issue of selective androgen receptor modulators in relation to the mechanism of their effect, positive and negative properties on the human body. He points out their abuse in doping and in the field of pharmaceutical crime. Within the framework of forensic toxicology, he emphasizes the indispensable need to apply analytical methods for their identification and quantification in biological matrices or, for example, in nutritional supplements available to the general public via Internet sales.
