Summary/Abstract: A text with autobiographical premises, a strange text, one of the rare prose works by I.L. Caragiale, in which the narrator is the main character, the short story Grand Hotel Victoria Română demythologizes the topos of returning to the world of childhood. Frustration, alienation, the grotesque, proliferating masks, ugliness, and promiscuity are motifs and signs of drama in Grand Hotel Victoria Română, a work devoted to the provincial universe.
