Summary/Abstract: The article examines the repertoire of chants containing fragments of ancient acrostics of the Burial Rite of Lay People (phrasal and alphabetical), which are found in two East Slavic Prayer-books (trebniki) of the 16th century. Both manuscripts come from the territory of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The versions of the Burial Rite in them differ from each other and from the previously identified South Slavic editions.
