Summary/Abstract: The theme of this issue may provoke questions that go beyond the immediate scope of property law. Protected and guaranteed not only by domestic regulations but also by international ones, the right to property transcends its private dimensions and touches upon its public nature. The main element that differentiates these two facets—among many others, of course—is the holder of the right. Starting from this feature, we will attempt to approach a topic that not only captures the qualification of property rights limits from a different perspective, one that crosses national borders, but also transitions toward the theme of the next issue of the journal under whose auspices this is published. Among patrimonial rights, the right to property is the most protected by national and international normative instruments. Property must be viewed both at the individual level and at the state level, concerning the sovereignty of states over certain territories. A topic that has been debated recently is that of Antarctica, the frozen continent at the southernmost part of the planet, long considered to be beyond human boundaries.
