Summary/Abstract: The article briefly characterizes the European Union cohesion policy in the cur¬rent financial programming period. It also describes the cohesion policy in Poland, which principles, objectives and instruments are implemented in the National Strategic Reference Framework. An important part of the article is a reflection on the implementation of cohesion policy in Lower Silesia Voivodeship. The priorities and actions specified in the Regional Op¬erational Programme for Lower Silesia Voivodeship are also presented in the article.
