Summary/Abstract: The article presents a university course project aimed at a zoocritical anal-ysis of the documentary film Among Men (1960), directed by Władysław Ślesicki, whichdepicts the lives of stray dogs in an urban environment. The film has previously beenviewed from an anthropocentric perspective, interpreting the animals’ fate as a metaphorfor the human condition. The author proposes a zoocritical “rewriting” of the film, reveal-ing historical and film-historical contexts from the canine point of view.
