Summary/Abstract: Contemporary linguistics actively employs the linguistic biography method. This method has a central place in glottodidactics, multilingual studies, dialectology, migration studies, and more. An article on the linguistic biography method, applied to the study of colonialism, is presented. The aim of the study is to develop a linguistic biography of Lesia Ukrainka based on autobiographical information, correspondence, sources, the influence of the broad historical, cultural, and political context of the place and community from which the poet lives, and the foundations for its consequences. For the first time, we have created a linguistic biography of Lesia Ukrainka that is embedded within the operating system of an imperial language, in which the language of the empire was to be the determining factor for the individual speaker. We have revealed a reverse dynamic in which the colonized language is central, revealing the languages of the colonizer in one of the many languages of the multilingual world. Fundamentally, Lesia Ukrainka's linguistic biography transcends the colonial framework of the linguistic matrix; it is a strategy that allows for the connection of multiple languages. the use of Ukrainian as a linguistic marker of decolonization.
