Summary/Abstract: Ensuring the survival of the civilian population in collective protection facilities hasnot been a priority for state authorities, which follows from an analysis of documents for 2011–2022.The aim of the article is to analyze the state of preparations undertaken in Poland in relation to theprotection of the civilian population, especially concerning collective protection facilities, and toanalyse the state of knowledge of the population on the possibility of using collective protectionmeasures in the event of a threat. The research problem is this: To what extent and in what way is thecivilian population in Poland protected by means of collective protection facilities against a potentialcrisis situation? It is assumed that in the current state of international security, organizational, functionaland technical preparations in collective protection facilities are disproportionate to the threats.
