Summary/Abstract: The article emphasizes the importance of incorporating youth language into the teaching of Polish as a foreign language. It highlights the absence of youth language in Polish language courses abroad as well as in fields such as politics and advertising. Understanding the youth language can help foreign students navigate the Polish Internet, deepen their understanding of pop culture, and avoid misunderstandings in interactions with Polish peers. The paper proposes teaching Polish youth slang to C1-level learners, emphasizing the development of metacommunicative awareness and lexical competence with current youth vocabulary. It also underscores the importance of verifying slang terms due to their constant evolution. This approach ensures that learners are equipped with relevant and up-to-date language skills.
