Summary/Abstract: The article discusses ways to use tools applied in coaching for teaching foreign languages in schools. The main focus is on using open-ended questions. These can be asked both outside the structure of the coaching conversation and within the GROW model to set a goal, analyze the student's current situation, develop various options and strategies and plan specific actions. The first element of this model is particularly examined, including its aspects such as specificity, measurability, achievability/attractiveness, realism/relevance and time boundness. Designing actions necessary to achieve the goal, it is recommended to use a SWOT analysis, which allows to identify strengths and difficulties that may arise during the implementation of planned actions. Last but not least, the article encourages teachers to provide feedback, whose main function is to build teacher-student relationship and motivate the student by appreciating their effort. The use of coaching tools in school aims to unlock the student's potential.
