Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present the principles of the agrophotovoltaics concept (agrivoltaicsor APV), and the possibilities of its development in selected countries of the European Union. Theadoption of innovations in agriculture is crucial for meeting challenges related to food security, andthe goals of sustainable agriculture development. The growing global demand for food and electricityforces the development of photovoltaic agriculture. It is a way to maintain valuable agricultural land,secure food production, and to maintain supply chains without straining the energy system. Theintroduction of certain legal solutions in EU Member States has brought them closer to achievingambitious climate goals related to the objective of achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
