Summary/Abstract: The modern literature of Germans in Hungary is the literature of the descendants of Germans who arrived in Hungary in the 17th and 18th centuries. It is not based on the German-language urban bourgeois literature that existed in Hungary until the mid-20th century. This literature began in the 1970s, with the first German-language volume appearing in 1974. It has two main themes: the German language and the Hungarian homeland. While the language is German, the homeland is clearly Hungary.
