Summary/Abstract: This study focuses on the late damaskin collections of the Modern-Bulgarian type IV. Its primary aim is to investigate, using new data, the potential interrelationships among the known codices within this group. The so-called Berlin Damaskin is included in the examined corpus; this manuscript was long believed to have been destroyed during World War II. Although frequently referenced in scholarly literature on the damaskin tradition, it has yet to receive a comprehensive and systematic study. The present analysis focuses primarily on the palaeographical characteristics of the Berlin and Belene Damaskins, which are regarded as key indicators in the interpretation of the written evidence concerning the probable locations of origin of the manuscripts. In addition, the study considers specific features and graphic elements that may offer insights into the identity of the scribe or the circle of scribes associated with these works. Only through subsequent textual, linguistic, and dialectological analyses of the collections of the Modern-Bulgarian Type IV can the chronological scope and cultural activities of the literary centre in the northeastern Bulgarian lands be more precisely established.
