Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the financial crisis that launched the global economy at the end of the year 2008 and with its impact on the area of human resources management. As a result of bankrupts and decrease in sales in many companies the unemployment reached the top and disrupted the labor market significantly. As a result the labor supply highly exceeds demand and the companies face the problem of downsizing and outplacement. Enterprises are affected by the crisis in many other ways. Despite the fact that the company’s staff is considered to be the most important asset and the crucial source of competitive advantage of an enterprise, if a company consider cost cuts people are usually the first possibilities to save money. Nevertheless the crisis constitutes the possibility to improve the talent management of the company, to assess its processes and restructure.
