Summary/Abstract: Legal education in schools represents a fundamental pillar for strengthening a democratic, equitable, and participatory society. In the context of current challenges - social polarization, misinformation, and declining trust in institutions - the early development of a legal culture becomes a necessity. This article explores five essential areas in which legal education contributes to the formation of active and informed citizens: the development of civic responsibility, the prevention of antisocial behavior, the cultivation of critical thinking and argumentation skills, the promotion of fundamental values such as equality, justice, and human rights, and the preparation of young people for adult life and democratic participation. The analysis is supported by academic literature and relevant examples from national and international educational practice. The conclusion highlights the need to integrate legal education as a cross-curricular or mandatory subject within the school curriculum, emphasizing its formative role in developing a generation capable of upholding and protecting the rule of law.
