TEAMWORK PECULIARITIES IN DIFFERENT TYPES OF LITHUANIAN ORGANIZATIONS

Summary/Abstract: The article provides the diagnostic research results of teamwork peculiarities in private and statutory organizations using the standardized "Team Plus" testing methodology. The research employed the surveys of teams in private and statutory organizations based on six dimensions: orientation towards target and achievements; commitment to work and responsibility; communication within the team; team management; team organization; team role and status in the organization. A team is perceived as an efficiently working group, which has achieved a particular level of integration while the effectiveness of the organization activity development is determined by the following factors: role distribution among team members, rules in the group, which determines cooperation, motivation, creativeness, ideas and intercommunion based on social contacts. The diagnostic research results using the standardized "Team Plus" testing methodology allowed to formulate the following basic peculiarities of teamwork development in the teams of Lithuanian private and statutory organizations: the rating based on the general average value of the test demonstrates that teamwork is practically inefficient both in private and statutory organizations. The research has shown that teamwork is more efficient in the teams of statutory organizations than in the ones operating in the private sector. The team diagnostic profile based on six teamwork dimensions showed that the teams of statutory organizations by contraries to the teams of the private sector demonstrate intensity and openness of communication processes in the team. In addition, these teams are better organized and they demonstrate stronger orientation towards the target and achievements. The teams of the private sector poorly perceive their team role and status in the organization; this assessment implies that the team role and status in the company are also not significant enough. The analysis of test data in each dimension allowed to discover the following more detailed peculiarities of the teams of private and statutory organizations: orientation towards the target and results - employees of the teams of statutory organizations perceive the goals and objectives of the company better than employees of the teams of the private sector; commitment to work and responsibility - the teams of the private sector are not willing to show initiative and to improve themselves (similar attitude dominates in the teams of statutory organizations); communication within the team – commu- nication within the teams of statutory organizations is generally better than in the teams of the private sector; team management - team management is assessed rather poorly; consequently, the management impact is inefficient and the management style is unacceptable to the team members; team organization - the teams of statutory organizations plan their work better than the teams of the private sector; team role and status in the organization - the
