Summary/Abstract: The study addresses the issue of the family and family values, which have always been an important factor in development. In this context, it should be noted that promoting a prosperous young family is becoming one of the current tasks of modern social policy. However, the traditional family has now lost its attractiveness and importance for a certain part of the population. There has been a tendency for the population to move away from formal registration of family relationships, with couples increasingly choosing alternative forms of cohabitation. Statistically, the number of such marriages in our country has tripled in the last ten years. Should you enter a civil marriage or opt for a formal one? This is quite a controversial question, even though modern society is becoming more and more loyal and tolerant towards civil marriage. People in registered marriages are more family-orientated, more orientated towards creating a comfortable environment for each spouse, spending leisure time together and establishing a solid and stable professional and material situation. At the same time, the conceptions of people in “civil” marriages are more orientated towards their own well-being and development, towards their inner world, rather than towards the development of the family. However, young people between the ages of 23 and 30 derive greater satisfaction from a loose form of marriage at this stage of development. In this paper, we have been able to identify the difference in the conceptions of spouses in registered and unregistered marriages, as well as the particularities of the state of the family social climate, the spouses' terminal values and their satisfaction with marriage.
