The role of regional fashion events in the development of the Romanian fashion industry – trends, impacts, and opportunities

Summary/Abstract: Romania’s fashion sector is undergoing continuous development, and as part of this process, the range of fashion events is becoming increasingly diverse. The aim of this study is to map and systematize the types of domestic fashion events. The investigation was based on several methodological approaches: on one hand, I analysed information available in the online press and on social media platforms, and on the other hand, I conducted interviews with organizers of regional events (5 individuals), as well as with fashion designers (26 individuals) to obtain as comprehensive a picture as possible of the signifi cance and role of domestic fashion shows. Based on the collected data, I compiled a list of Romania’s fashion events, which I integrated into a categorization system developed according to my own criteria.
