Summary/Abstract: The contribution focuses on the research in self-regulation of learning of students of preschool and elementary pedagogy and technology. We will analyse self-regulation styles of students at several universities in Slovakia. For this purpose, we will apply the methodology based on the selfdetermination theory developed by Edward L. Deci and Richard M. Ryan. In this way, we will get an overview of the character of students´ motivation for these subjects and also valuable information about internal and external factors of self-regulation. Based on the obtained results, we will be able to take measures for the preparation of the students.
