Summary/Abstract: The criminal procedure code entered into force in 2014 allocates numerous provisions to the rights of defendants. Because of this, it has often been argued in legal doctrine that, as a whole, the new criminal procedure code enshrines in detail considerable guarantees of the rights of persons who have committed crimes, without such concern being shown by the legislator for the victims of crimes. That is why, in 2019, substantial changes were made to the law on some measures to ensure the protection of crime victims, a law that had been adopted in 2004. In this way, the organic law that organizes the criminal process in Romania, namely the code of criminal procedure, it came to be supplemented by a law that puts the victim of a crime at the center of its regulation. During this study we will analyze the rights conferred by the current legislation on the victim of a crime, as these rights are currently regulated
