Summary/Abstract: Research on gratitude and its associations with compassion, self-compassion, and gratitude is presented. Both compassion and gratitude relate to sociality, thus their relationship to prosocial behaviour is significant. They are also crucial for developing and maintaining optimal and healthy relationships. Compassion and gratitude share common correlations to well-being, such as a positive association with positive affect and a negative association with depression/anxiety. On the other hand, complex links are documented between self-compassion, gratitude, and prosocial behaviour. Finally, personality traits share common patterns when explored in relation to compassion, self-compassion, and gratitude.
