Summary/Abstract: The aim of this communication is to address a current education issue: artificial intelligence and its impact on the teaching and learning of modern languages, more specifically French as a foreign language. First of all, this research aims to define the concept of “artificial intelligence” and clarify its place within the educational context. We will then discuss the role of this technological challenge in the FLE classroom environment, highlighting both its advantages and potential drawbacks. Afterwards, we will focus on the applicability of such an instrument in the FLE teaching and learning process, particularly through didactic activities carried out using digital tools. To enrich our analysis, we will include statistical data gathered from a survey conducted among Romanian teenagers, to better understand their perspectives on this matter. Finally, we will draw some relevant conclusions about the benefits and challenges of such an approach to FLE classroom learning.
