Summary/Abstract: This study analyzes the Facebook communication of Slovak parliamentary party leaders after the 2023 elections until the May 2024 assassination attempt on Prime Minister Robert Fico. Using grounded theory and NVivo software, the research identifies six main themes: Domestic Policies, Foreign Policies, Criticism of the Government/Opposition, Criticism of Others, Presidential Election, and Positive Messages. The analysis of 632 Facebook posts reveals that negative campaigning, often involving anger, aggression, insults, and vulgarity, significantly contributed to a polarized atmosphere culminating in the assassination attempt.
