Summary/Abstract: The paper explores the problem of transworld identities of central female characters in literary parody (Dulcinea of Toboso in Cervantes' novel about Don Quixote and Cimpeprich in Steria's donquixoteria Roman bez romana) from the perspective of cognitive narratology, semantics of possible worlds, and cognitive semantics, with the focus on the virtual narratives in which these heroines participate. Understanding heroines as functions of parodic negation, we emphasize their instability and liminality, i.e. intertextual and intratextual variation in the actualized and virtual world of the referential world of the text, and the world of the story of the parodied text. Parody complicates the problem of transworld identities, calling into question the criterion of sufficient similarity between variants of a literary hero, since the narrator's voice that authenticates such a variant can confirm parody only if it highlights the difference in transworld identities.
