Summary/Abstract: This paper interprets the short story Molski akordi by Mirko Demić, and focuses on the problem of narrative identity in terms of the multiple-story worlds. Methodological grounds for the analysis are taken from the postclassical narratology (mainly from the possible worlds theory) and the rhetorical criticism, along with the feminist criticism and Lacan's psychoanalysis. The interpretation points out to characteristics of trans-world identity and identity over time of the main characters, as well as complex ways in which some narrative instances participate in building those identities. By following the contrast that is in the story’s motto, as well as the binary code that is seemingly in the basis of the text’s semantics, the author shows new possibilities for reading the story outside of binaries, and points out to hidden meanings of the text which are related to femininity.
