Summary/Abstract: Modern educational systems pay more and more attention to informal education and lifelong learning. There is a need for new ways and methods of knowledge acquisition, faster solutions to problem situations and the use of knowledge for these purposes. These challenges are not only aimed at education, but also at all other activities in modern society. Neurolinguistic programming (acronym NLP) is a practical discipline that includes a series of models, techniques and skills for efficient thinking and action, with the aim of increasing usefulness, expanding choices and improving the quality of life. NLP studies the way people achieve success in a wide variety of fields (modeling process) and teaches people these patterns. The forms, skills and techniques obtained in this way are increasingly used in education, consulting and business to achieve accelerated learning, personal development and more successful communication. This scientific discipline is increasingly used in the field of psychology and pedagogy, especially for a better understanding of children's development and needs, as well as easier goal setting in working with children, and the development of a positive self-image in children. In this paper, we will point out the most important characteristics of NLP and its role in personality development and children's education.
